In anticipation of Meta Connect and the prospect of new MR hardware, I have worked on a little Meta Quest 3 experiment during my time at Gospooky. With 'Still Waters', I set out to create a tactile Mixed Reality experience.
As you walk up to the water's edge a feeling of vertigo or thalassophobia might creep up. Kneel down to interact with the water's surface but beware of the creatures below!
For this experience we focused on fidelity and interactivity. We created a custom high performance water shader as well as custom 3D assets, level design and VFX. The feedback from the physical ground while displacing the virtual water is especially effective.
Special shout out to the rest of the team as well: Julian Plak, Eren Önem, Tom Geurts & Miyaki Truong! The release was playable via App Lab on Quest for anyone to try.
