This project is a stylized 3D portrait created as part of a test brief for an animated documentary. I explored a watercolor-inspired look built entirely in Blender, with hand-painted textures and a custom shader that mimics the softness and layering of traditional media.
The animation is crafted by hand, with subtle movements and facial shifts designed to suggest the character’s inner thoughts. There’s no post processing. The final renders come straight from Blender, using only Eevee lighting and effects.
This piece was an exercise in visual storytelling through mood, restraint, and stylized simplicity, blending digital precision with an analog feel.
